- Tips for adding video:
100 MB is max file that VITA will accept for upload.
For web delivered videos we use a standardized HTML5 player for .MP4 files
This assumes that you have converted your current file format to be MP4 and, unlike a final hi-res archival master, you need to optimize a web version of your video for a web service, bandwidth-friendly format. Optimized video in this format is usually about 3 MB per min. or a 30 minute max play time within the 100 MB max file that we accept for upload.
If the videos you are uploading are large screen size (e.g. 1280 x 720 and High Definition sound& quality) your 2 minute video might be 85 MB. This is great to keep as your archival copy, but rather bandwidth intensive for your users, particularly mobile users.
Without reducing the screen size, you can run web compression to reduce it from approximately 85 MB to 15 MB.
A reduction in screen size would halve this size again.
Chat with your videographer and see if you can get an optimized, compressed MP4 video format for upload. - Date of Original
